One down Four to go!

Now don't get me wrong I hate brass/gold, whatever you want to call it!  I have 5 working ceiling fans in the house. Nothing wrong with any of them but they are covered in brass.  But I have never seen anything like our living room fan!  It was so bad that I never looked up! Yes that is a light above the fan! We called it the disco ball light!

 

From this point on we will replace fans as they break.  I just needed to get that one out of my living room!

Our 2 New Pets!

We found out Monday Morning that we have a family of deer that live across the street from us and they like to drink from our stream that runs from our pool pump.  2 of them came back to visit us about 8pm tonight, so the kids got to see them!

We have slowed down on the renovation in the house. But we did get a new front door.  The original one, had not only a brass kick plate, and brass hardware but it was rusting and I don't even think 4 coats of paint would have helped it!  Now with the new paint color, I need to paint all 20 shutters!

Megan has Been Published!

Megan's first grade class has been published!  Megan had to write about her family for her section of the book.

On The Move!

Well I guess you can tell that I have not updated the blog in a long long time! 1 reason is that we had really really slow Internet! And the other reason is we bought a ZOO, well not really a zoo, but a house! A house that has not been lived in, in about a year, and that has not been updated since 1991(the year it was built).  But they did put in a pool!(what a heartache). It is about 2400 sq ft 4 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths and a full basement! We sit on an about 1 acre surrounded by huge trees! 
The first thing I did was fix the kitchen cabinet's and started painting, the WHOLE HOUSE!  We had to replace part of the dinning room floor and wall.  We replaced all 3 toilets, the basement door, the front door and added chair rail and extended the closet in Megan's room.  And brass, the whole house is BRASS!!

Next for the kitchen is the counter tops, backsplash and flooring, but we have to wait for the the money tree in the back yard to grow back.
