Sing Megan Sing!
Today at Megan's preschool was her Christmas Concert. She could not wait to wear her "Pretty Christmas Dress to school" The little girl standing next to her is Kennedy and the two of the are very good friends! She had a lot of fun and our personal favorite song here on Log Cabin Lane is "Chubby Little Snowman" Enjoy the video.

Snowman!
She took one large men's sock and filled it up with horse feed, and about the middle of the sock we wrapped a rubber band around it to make the 2 "snowballs". Then we rubber banded that top so nothing would fall out. We folded down the "cuff" of the sock to make the hat. Miss Jo cut our scarfs out of felt and then 2 googlies eyes and of course the "Megan touch" the purple nose. We will be making one with Josh, but first we need to find some filling for our snowman. I was thinking maybe beans or corn for the filling.

Turtle Pumpkin Pie
I hope you are ready for another installment of "COOKING WITH JOSH". What we are going to make today is "Turtle Pumpkin Pie" And while we were making this we had a few technical difficulties, some we kept in the video and some were not. The one that I did not get on video is Josh eating a "SPOON FULL OF PUMPKIN-OUT OF THE CAN!!" The look on his face was priceless. And as you are watching please pay close attention to Megan licking with whisk over Josh's shoulder she is very funny! (I see film in her future!)
The pie is in the fridge right now, and I will have an update of it sometime tomorrow.

I Dusted off the Sewing Machine!!
Alright, so my friend Julie is going to have a baby girl (Reese Taylor) at the end of December. And when I was thinking about baby gifts, of course I thought of a "Pretty Dress" and something pink, but I wanted to do something a little more personal. So I broke-out the sewing machine and my shopping cart cover pattern. I made one about 4 years ago for Megan, and told myself I would never ever make one again. (I must really like you Julie!) So about the middle of October I started making it, well lets just say, I ended up trashing it! So back to the fabric store I go, but this time Don talked me into make one for a girl he works with. So now I have 2 to make. I can't draw in a straight line, how in the hell am I suppose to sew in a straight line!?!? So all in all I am very happy with how they turned out! Just don't look to close, I never said I was a seamstress! And isn't my model the cuties!
So I guess you can add shopping cart covers to my list of so called talents. The pillowcase dress is next, Megan picked out the fabric in the last photo for her dress, stay turned for that!

"Super Star"
In Josh's Tuesday folder I got a little note that said he had been selected to be The Super Star for next week. We filled out a poster that asked questions about what Josh liked. I emailed Mrs Saunders and asked how they pick the student. She said that the office picks them and that he is the 1st from his class. Friday is the last day of the 1st quarter. So next week be on the look out for a report card update. FYI you can click on the photos to make them bigger.

Cheese Sandwich
1st Day of School
Well it was going to happen sooner or later, The 1st Day of School. I woke Josh up at about 6:30 am and he told me that it was still dark out! Well Megan, she made me carry her downstairs. So after pancakes and chocolate milk we got dress for school.
Then about 7:35am we made out way to the bus stop, which is a short walk(maybe 1/2 block) from our house. Where we found out that the little girl who lives behind us is in Joshs class also. Her name is Elizabeth.(You will c her in the video) Well the bus was a little late. Lets just say Josh was late for his 1st day of Kindergarten! After Josh got on the bus, Megan and I got in the van and waited for him in his classroom. We talked with Mrs. Saunders, she is very very nice, and Josh will have 22kids in his class.
At about 1pm I got an email from Mrs. Saunders "Josh is having a super day! We are resting right now and will be heading to music soon."
And it is 2:45 pm and Megan is sleeping, and the dogs are sleeping, and it is just too quite in the house!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
What does it mean to take a 3yr old and a 5yr old to the ball park. 3 trips to the bathroom, and to top it off one of those trips was durning "Take me Out to the ball game" Josh and Megan had been practicing singing that for 3 days! It was not until the bottom of the 8Th did Josh realize that he missed it!
Lets Dance!
